1. Description of Service

LomiSpeak is an Android application that provides:

• A custom system keyboard for typing in Ge’ez script
• On-screen handwriting input for Ge’ez (Fidel) characters
• Voice dictation in Tigrinya, Amharic, and Afaan Oromoo (speech-to-text)
• Translation into 20+ languages
• Ge’ez ↔ Latin script transliteration tools
• An interactive Ge’ez (Fidel) chart for reference

The app is designed for Tigrinya speakers and the Eritrean/Ethiopian diaspora.

2. User Accounts

• You may use the app anonymously with lower daily usage limits.
• Creating an account (via Google Sign-In, email, or Apple Sign-In) unlocks higher usage limits and lets your subscription follow you across devices.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen. This permanently removes all your data from our servers.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

• LomiSpeak offers a Premium subscription (“LomiSpeak Premium”) available as monthly or yearly plans. Premium removes the daily voice-dictation cap.
• Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the cost of the chosen plan.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Google Play account (Play Store → Subscriptions).
• No refunds will be provided for partial subscription periods. Refund requests should be directed to Google Play.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, subscription requirements, or security measures
• Use automated tools to access the service (bots, scrapers, etc.)
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our speech-to-text models

5. The Keyboard

• The LomiSpeak keyboard is a custom input method (IME) for typing in Ge’ez script, including on-screen handwriting input.
• You enable the keyboard from your device’s system settings (Languages & input). Voice dictation inside the keyboard requires granting microphone permission; typing itself does not.
• We do not collect, log, or transmit keystrokes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Voice Transcription

• Speech-to-text is provided by our own models running on our servers. Accuracy improves over time but is not perfect, especially with background noise, mixed-language input, or unusual phrasing.
• Transcribed text is yours. You can edit, copy, or discard it as you wish.
• For Premium accounts, the app can save a short history of your recent transcripts so you can revisit them. You can turn this off or clear it at any time.
• Do not rely on transcription for safety-critical communications.

7. Translation

• Translation is powered by a third-party service (Google Translate).
• Translations are provided for convenience and may contain errors. Do not rely on them for legal, medical, or other critical communications.

8. Intellectual Property

The app, its design, code, branding, and the speech-to-text models we developed are owned by LomiSpeak. You retain ownership of text you transcribe or translate using the app.

9. Limitation of Liability

LomiSpeak is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to inaccurate transcriptions or translations, data loss, or service interruptions.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
